>> OSSC Volunteers
The smooth running of the Olympium Synchronized Swim Club depends upon willing member volunteers who contribute their time, knowledge, experience and expertise to ensure we remain vibrant and strong. Their ongoing support and commitment is the backbone of our success.
With several events and opportunities throughout the year, there are many ways for volunteers to get involved at OSSC – cook for a bake sale, make telephone calls, design a program brochure, find items for an auction, help out at a special event, or be part of a group or committee working towards a particular goal. No matter how you help, you'll make a big difference as you work with others to reinforce the foundation of our great club.
At OSSC, your time and talent go along way! We are currently seeking members who can devote some time and energy to the following volunteer opportunities:

The OSSC Board of Directors is pleased to award Cynthia Caskey and Andrea Robart OSSC's Volunteer of the Year. Both Cynthia and Andrea happily volunteered to support the club and the sport of synchro in many roles. Their commitment to the sport is truly remarkable! OSSC thanks Cynthia and Andrea for their love, dedication, support and diligent work - you two help to make all things possible.
The role of parent of a competitive athlete is truly one of the most demanding volunteer roles in sport! It is a 24 hour a day 7 day a week job! These two ladies take on this role with the love and dedication of mothers who believe in her daughters and only wants the best. Their support of their daughters and the club is evident in all that Cynthia and Andrea do.
Andrea took on the role of Registrar this year and she raised the bar and rewrote this role. She not only received and reviewed all the applications for the KIS and evening competitive teams, she was also on deck last fall for 3 to 4 days a week for a month and half. She made a display board and organized a table so anyone who came on deck last fall knew where to go and where to get information on Synchronized Swimming. She supported the new families by answering questions and made everyone feel welcome! She continued support the families and supported as new KIS families as they joined OSSC. Continuing in the role as registrar she registered all the members and all the routines for the club in every event OSSC attended.
Andrea also took on the role of Volunteer coordinator for the Divisional meet this year. She ensured all the shifts and duties were covered and no event was delayed due to lack of volunteers. Andrea thank you for you dedication and support in the vital roles you filled this year.
Cynthia filled many roles for the club this year some were very visible and other were behind the scenes. Cynthia stepped down from the board last year. She had spent many years on the board under the communication role and her last 2 years she was the president. We all though after this she might slow down and take a well deserved rest. But we all know Cynthia and true to form she continued to work hard for OSSC. As KIS recruitment and communication coordinator Cynthia has brought our KIS number to levels we haven’t seen before! Our KIS exceeded our expectations. As she was recruiting for KIS she helped the club fill 2 full competitive teams in the evening. Cynthia was along side Andrea on deck last fall for a month and half greeting and supporting the both the competitive and the KIS swimmers and parents. She coordinated umpteen tryouts and answered hundreds of emails and phone calls. She continued this recruitment, follow-up and support through out the year. She continued what she started as OSSC president and continues to represent not only OSSC but all aquatics sports on many forums and within many groups to help the sport of Synchronized Swimming thrive and grow within our community. She has recently worked with Kerri to secure a pool within the TDSB allowing us to expand our program within the Etobicoke community.
