Hot
on the heels of the success of the first ‘Quest
for Gold’ lottery, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming
Corporation is proud to launch a second version of the
$20 INSTANT game that supports Ontario’s amateur
athletes.
The
lottery, first launched in January 2006, funds the Quest
for Gold Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP) which
provides financial support to Ontario's amateur high
performance athletes for living and training costs,
as well as post-secondary tuition support. Click

In
the first payout, the lottery saw approximately $1.9
million divided up among Ontario’s athletes, $558,000
directed towards coaching through the Canadian Sport
Centre/Ontario, and another $279,000 allocated to help
with training and competitions through the Sports Alliance
of Ontario.
Through
the ‘Quest for Gold’ lottery and Active
2010 (Ontario’s sport and physical activity strategy)
sport initiatives, more of our athletes are training
in Ontario with increased opportunities to achieve international
podium success.
