Carpenter still OSSC's ‘First Lady' of Fundraising

For a third consecutive year, athletes of the Olympium Synchro Swim Club were recognized by Synchro Swim Ontario for their exceptional support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) through the Burning Bright for Breast Cancer fundraising initiative.

Since 2004, OSSC has teamed up with other member clubs from across the province each October to participate in an extraordinary relay style marathon that has raise more than $100,000 to help fund the fight against breast cancer. Click Here to read more.

During this year's official cheque presentation to the CBCF at the Lisa Alexander Figures Meet on December 3, Synchro Ontario President Lynn Hammond commended OSSC athletes for their outstanding accomplishment and contribution as top fundraising club for 2006. On hand to accept the club's certificate of appreciation was Kathaleen Carpenter, who was also recognized for her exceptional fundraising efforts that amounted to $1,214 – more than enough to preserve her status as OSSC's ‘First Lady' of fundraising, a designation that has been bestowed on Kathaleen every year since she first started participating in the event.

OSSC would like to take this opportunity to recognize the volunteers, athletes and many family and friends whose support and energy went a long way in making Burning Bright for Breast Cancer 2006 such an awesome success. Together, we are a powerful group of people whose combined efforts are truly making a difference. Thank You!
