>> Athletes Come Home with Keepsakes from Peru
A total 18 OSSC athletes from two synchronized swimming teams came home with nice keepsakes and wonderful memories from Perú last month after traveling there to participate at the V Sincro Aquatic Cup, July 5 to 8. Synchro Ontario 's 13-15 Provincial Team and OSSC's Black Team both had successful performances at the event and both were rewarded for their efforts!
Synchro Ontario 's 13-15 Provincial team, coached by OSSC's Kelly Hogan and headlined by 6 OSSC athletes, enjoyed pool supremacy in all events, winning figures, solo, duet and team events with strong performances in all disciplines. Rebecca Maule led the team with the highest ranking finishes, placing first in figures, solo and duet (with partner Rachel Kowalski) in addition to the team win.
Other OSSC athletes – members of the ‘Black' team coached by Elena Podolsky – were also impressive in team finals, swimming a strong rendition of their catchy Chicago routine that earned them acclaim from both judges and spectators, resulting in a third place routine finish with a score of 75.70. OSSC is exceptionally proud of its athletes and congratulates both Synchro Ontario's Provincial Team and the Black team for their outstanding performances at this event! Special thanks to coaches Kelly Hogan and Elena Podolsky for their part in providing the on-going support and extra competitive opportunities to our young athletes!
