>> OSSC Awards Athletes at Annual Banquet

At this year’s Annual Awards Banquet, held on June 25th, the Olympium Synchronized Swimming Club recognized athletes, coaches, and volunteers for their hard work and achievements during the 2007-2008 season.

 The event took place in the wonderful backyard of the Tobias/Brown family who were gracious hosts to over 60 guests. The athletes enjoyed the relaxed environment, as did parents and friends of OSSC. The perfect weather helped to make the evening even more enjoyable.

Club President Cynthia Caskey and Head Coach Kerri Morgan co-hosted the official ceremony which was dedicated to the celebration of  the accomplishments of OSSC athletes, coaches and volunteers.. The following major awards were presented :

The Team Player Award – presented to the athlete from each team who best demonstrated good sportsmanship and who embodied all the desireable characteristics of a good teammate/friend both in and out of the water. Awards were presented to Victoria Mintz (Tier 7 – E.P.), Lindsay Lukezic( Tier 7 – D.L.), Jordan Field (Gold Team), Haley Miller (Black Team) and  Yusran Haji-Ali (Red Team)

The 110% Effort Award – presented to the athlete from each team who best exemplified determination, consistency of purpose and a superior work ethic. Awards were presented to Lara Tutton ( Tier 7 E.P.), Irina Cividino (Tier 7 D.L.), Samantha Hainer (Gold Team), Mali Foster (Black Team) Sachal Roberts ( Red Team) and Anastasia Mityukhiyaeva and Amanda Pleasance ( White Team)

The Most Improved Award – presented to the athlete from each team who, because of her hard work and dedication to succeed, has demonstrated a significant improvement during the season. Awards were presented to Sarah Graham (Tier 7 EP), Delaney Klein (Tier 7 D.L.), Kathaleen Carpenter ( Gold Team), Avery Patrick ( Black Team) and Cosette Leblanc ( Red Team),

The Amey Caskey Award – This award is presented to the club athlete who best exemplifies the standards of quality set by Amy; outstanding leadership and achievement, motivational qualities, and contribution to team. This year’s recipient was Annette Peterson.

Volunteer of the Year Award - Catrine Klein was praised her for her many hours of dedication to the sport, highlighting the Tier Championships which Catrine directed so smoothly.(see About Us/Volunteers for more)
