>> Tickled Pink Over Fundraising Success!!

Athletes of the Olympium Synchronized Swimming Club are ‘tickled pink’ over news of the tremendous success of the 4th annual Burning Bright for Breast Cancer campaign, a Synchro Swim Ontario initiative in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation!

Results of the province-wide charity drive were released on December 4 in advance of the official cheque presentation which took place at the Lisa Alexander Figures Meet in London on December 9. During the ceremony, Synchro Ontario’s Executive Director Leslie Makins and Board President Suzanne Laroche commended athletes from member clubs on their 2007 efforts that produced an astonishing $30,580 for breast cancer research and community health initiatives, advancing their four-year cumulative total to more than $129,000!! Once again, OSSC was recognized for being the club with the most pledges collected at $5,910.35; special acknowledgement was also given to OSSC’s Kathaleen Carpenter for her exceptional fundraising efforts that amounted to $1,348.35 – WOW!!!

OSSC would like to thank event coordinator Sally Yan and the rest of the 2007 Burning Bright for Breast Cancer volunteers for their efforts in making this year's event such a success. And to our energetic athletes and dedicated family and friends – you have demonstrated an overwhelming commitment to creating a future without breast cancer through your unyielding enthusiasm, hard work and generosity over the past four years. Truly, a cure has become your cause!!
