>> OSSC Excels at Trials

OSSC teams displayed an impressive array of technique and skill to take top honours at the 2008 Provincial Trials which took place on January 26 & 27 at the Etobicoke Olympium.

Five teams – competing in Tier 6 and Tier 7 categories - put down strong performances at their first major competition of the season that confirmed they are ready for the upcoming competitive season.

Kelly Hogan’s Tier 6 Team showed some sparkle reminiscent of last year’s ‘Gold’ team as they produced a series of leading figure scores before confidently swimming their routine to clinch first place in the T6 15&Under Team Event. Two additional performances from teams coached by Taya Amundson and Kerri Morgan/Randi Deskin served to substantiate OSSC’s strength and depth in the division. Click Here for complete meet results.

OSSC’s success continued in the Tier 7 competition, where Elena Podolsky’s Junior team impressed the judges with a slick routine that demonstrated enough poise, power and agility to find them at the top of the standings, a comfortable 1.5203 ahead of Durham Synchro who finished in second; Waterloo Region finished third and OSSC’s Junior team coached by Debbie Laanep was fourth.

Looking ahead, OSSC now seeks to secure provincial titles at the 2008 Provincial Championships which begins on Friday February 15 and continues throughout the weekend at the Victor Davis Pool in Guelph.
