>> Mood Upbeat as Training Camp Opens

OSSC's 2007-08 pre-season training camp got off to a great start on Monday August 13, as close to 40 swimmers assembled for an intense fitness program that incorporated flexibility training and endurance/cardio workouts.

The mood was upbeat and the atmosphere more resembled the first day back at school, as friends who hadn't seen each other in weeks talked about their summers while waiting their turn between activities. For newcomers, it was a chance to meet new teammates and begin to absorb life as an Olympium athlete. Just about the only thing the athletes didn't get to do was swim – but they'll have plenty of time for that over the coming weeks, as camp moves to Sunnyside Outdoor Pool where athletes are scheduled to hit the water for the first time this new season on August 20.
